A striking semi-transparent glaze in a fiery orange with a glassy finish. The Botz Pro Fire Opal glaze will add the finishing touch to your pottery masterpieces, you can use the glaze on stoneware, earthenware, and tableware pieces. Botz recommend (from 1200°C) in high firing for tableware, clays are almost always sintered and hence the dishes are suitable for food, so therefore the glaze can be applied to your tableware without any worries. Extremely easy to use in a broad firing range from 1020°C to 1280°C (cone 05-04 to cone 8-9) At 1050°C the glaze is very colourful and almost opaque. Apply 2-3 glazing coats. At 1150°C the glaze is delicately speckled with a rather semi-transparent surface. Apply two glazing coats. At 1250°C the glaze is glassy, semi-transparent with intensive pastel shades, speckles become streaks on vertical surfaces. Apply two glazing coats. Good to know: Works in combination with underglaze colours. Colours can be mixed to create a unique palette. Will flow more at a higher temperature.
