JP instruments - affordable quality

John Packer have been manufacturing instruments for over 50 years, and the company is still run by Mr Packer himself. The company strive to produce good value instruments that are affordable yet offer a high level of performance, and their saxophones are a popular choice amongst teachers, schools and students across the globe.

The JP041 is an extremely well built and honestly priced full size student alto sax. While cheaper saxophones can vary enormously in quality, this model has been tried and tested over many years and continues to be recommended by teachers as a favourite all round starter instrument.

The perfect beginner saxophone

The build quality of the JP041 is excellent, and as with all John Packer outfits, it comes with a professional quality case - an important consideration when the instrument needs to survive the rigours of daily school life. With a characterful dynamic range and a mature tone, this saxophone is good enough to get the keen student through to grade 5 at least. The reliable response motivates young students to practice often, and there's no danger of them outgrowing the instrument thanks to the floating plate design, high F# and front F keys, as well as an adjustable thumb rest. The fully ribbed construction and double spine on the B and C keys means that this saxophone is particularly robust and can endure long practice sessions and regular transportation to and from lessons.

What's in the box

This saxophone is supplied as an outfit and includes a rigid, moulded rectangular case, detachable backpack-style straps, and John Packer's padded 'Well Slung' Sling for ease of comfort. Also included are a mouthpiece, mouthpiece cap and ligature.
